Manila with your Best Buds

16/08/2023

Only have a couple of days in the Philippine capital and keen to make the most of it? Here’s how to tick off some of the city’s best bits – from cultural quick hits to fun and exciting indoor activities – with your best buds.

EXPLORE

Founded by noted neurologist Dr. Joven R. Cuanang, Pintô Art Museum is composed of seven museum-galleries that house his collection of  modern and contemporary Philippine art as well as six changing exhibition galleries, spread out amidst gardens and water elements. The Pintô Academy for the Arts and Sciences and the Pintô Arboretum and its collection of more than 800 native and endemic Philippine plant species, completes the compound.

Established in 1967, The Ayala Museum is now a phygital institution with enhanced refreshed physical exhibitions, and event and retail spaces with digital technology to provide an entirely new museum experience. It houses permanent exhibitions of Philippine pre-colonial gold, indigenous textiles, and Southeast Asian trade ceramics that jointly tell the story of the ‘Crossroads of Civilizations’ – how the Philippines’ identity, imagery, and ingenuity were shaped by a millennium of interactions within the flourishing networks of exchange within Asia and beyond. It also houses changing exhibitions, serving as a well-spring of stories that will provoke curiosity and move people about what is uniquely Filipino. The Ayala Museum is also home to The Diorama Experience of Philippine history, which has been totally refreshed for new generations to enjoy.

PLAY

Philippines' first and only “indoor multilevel”, hi-performance electric go kart track venue within Metro Manila, Ekartraceway is equipped with the world’s most advanced Ekarts and safety equipment. Motorsport enthusiasts or driver wannabes finally have a place to sate their appetite for speed without spending the whole day traveling to the next available track.
Archery Attack is a dynamic mix of dodgeball, paintball, and archery where players go head-to-head in intense and high energy rounds of combat archery. It’s safe, easy to learn, and no experience is needed to play.

PARTY

Prepare to be greeted by the familiar allure of purple lights. Now showcasing a retro-chic aesthetic inspired by the vibrant club scene of New York City, NoKal continues to embrace its core value of fostering a sense of community. Additionally, indulge in the Studio 54 cocktail, accompanied by a mini disco ball that perfectly enhances its retro-chic ambiance. Prepare for unforgettable nights as local and international talents take the stage, sharing their music and setting the mood at this exceptional bar.

Yes Please is The Palace Manila’s first cocktail bar concept for its growing nightlife community. A place to call home after a long workday, or a withering weekend - no painful shoes and loud music and an interior that's more than just Instagrammable while you trip on head-bopping sounds. There’s never going to be another spot that'll make you say, “good company and better cocktails'', quite like Yes Please.
